Iao Valley State Monument

The Iao Valley State Monument, a Maui State Park, features a beautiful botanical garden and the 'Iao Needle - a 1,200-foot vegetation-covered lava remnant. The short hike allows visitors a beautiful viewpoint of the needle and the surrounding West Maui Mountains.
