Visiting Maui

The Hawaiian island of Maui is one of the most sterling tropical getaway destinations in the U.S. With premier attractions, welcoming locals, and a seemingly endless list of events, festivals, and concerts, it’s easy to see why so many vacationers flock to Maui. During the winter and into spring, there’s no lack of excitement on the island – plan your visit today.

Your number one destination within Maui should be Lahaina, which yields unmatched views of the Pacific Ocean, and offers quick access to a host of nearby must-see sites. You might fly into the Lahaina Kapalua Airport, and Downtown Lahaina offers up plenty to see and do for all members of the family. Just to the east of downtown you can check out the Iao Valley State Monument or the Maui Ocean Center. These attractions are excellent at any time of the year, but are particularly vibrant during the fall and winter.

As you explore Maui during the fall, don’t miss some of the very best scheduled events, concerts, and more. On October 29th you’ll want to visit the Maui Arts & Cultural Center at 7 p.m. for a live performance from Hall & Oates. Daryl and John bring their classic pop hits to the stage for a one-night-only show.

On November 4th you can check out a slew of products and vendors at the 2016 Made in Maui County Festival. Visit the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on the 4th to explore the wares and goods of more than 140 local artisans – you’ll find food, fun, games for the kids, and more, all from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

On November 11th be sure to set aside some time to explore one of Maui’s premier cultural events of the fall – the Sun Yat-Sen Festival. From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wo Hing Museum, you and the family can celebrate the life of Sun Yat-Sen, who is endearingly known as the father of modern China.

Plan your holiday celebration in Maui and be sure to experience the 2016 Christmas 5K and Half Mile Santa’s Keiki Dash. On December 18th, starting at 8 a.m., you and other runners will compete in this festive and rewarding run. All events start and take place at the Kaunoa Senior Center. And if you’re planning a visit next spring and still want to get your run on, check out the Maui 5K held on March 5th, 2017.

Ring in the New Year’s Day 2017 with some side splitters and gut busters – check out Bill Maher’s 6th Annual New Year’s All-Star Evening of Comedy. Visit the Maui Arts Center on January 1st from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. to see some of Maher’s guests like David Cross and Margaret Cho – among others.
